explora Easter Island, also called explora Posada de Mike Rapu, is by far the best hotel on Easter Island. The only LEED certified building in South America, explora is both a comfortable place to stay and an eco-friendly one.
The hotel is also the only one on the island that is not located in the main town. Instead it is located a short distance away in a peaceful area near the ocean. The unique location gives explora Easter Island a quiet, secluded setting that offers guests a private getaway while visiting.
explora Easter Island is an all-inclusive resort that offers everything from airport transfers to meals to daily excursions. Most guests do two excursions per day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. There are 15 to choose from, including hiking and walking excursions, beach visits, boating, snorkeling and diving, horseback riding, and trips to the famous moai platforms for which the island is so well known.
When not out seeing the island, guests can enjoy explora’s three-course lunches and dinners with regional wines, or visit the pool or the lodge’s lounge and bar areas, which offer free Wi-Fi. There are also massages on offer for those in need of some post-excursion relaxation.
Rooms at explora Easter Island offer beautiful views of the ocean. Large beds are covered in bright white linens and are accented by brightly colored throw pillows. There is a window seat for relaxing and enjoying the views, as well as a table, a bathroom with a tub and shower, and a closet with a safe.
Explora Easter Island is best visited for three days in order to fully enjoy the excursions and surroundings. If time permits, a longer stay would allow for more exploration of everything explora and the island have to offer.
